The WHO Global Tuberculosis Report 2025: 1.3 Drug-Resistant TB

MDR/RR-TB has been decreasing globally since 2015, with the estimated number of people who have developed MDR-TB in 2024 at 390,000. Regionally, the number of people who developed MDR-TB (incident cases) varies, with increases in the WHO Regions of the Americas and South-East Asia and decreases in the WHO African, Eastern Mediterranean, Western Pacific and European Regions. Furthermore, the estimated global proportion of new TB cases with MDR-TB decreased from 4.7% in 2015 to 3.2% in 2024. Read more here
