Dr. Salim Hamid

Dr. Salim Hamid has extensive working experience in programmatic and clinical management of DR-TB, and knowledge in planning, implementation and evaluation of tuberculosis programmes. Dr. Hamid has consulted for and been involved in variety of committees and panels on DR-TB, including the Technical Review Panel of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, the DOTS Expansion Working Group of the Stop TB Partnership and the KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation. Additionally, Dr. Hamid led the TB CARE consortium to scale up PMDT services in nine provinces of Indonesia and served as the Country Director and Medical Advisor to the Damien Foundation’s Bangladesh project. Dr. Hamid has been published in journals including the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, the International Journal of Tuberculosis and Lung Disease and the European Respiratory Journal.
